Lead Programmer

The Lead Programmer is usually a part of the lead team. The Lead Programmer must in collaboration with the lead team and the programming team manage the codebase and the code of the games

About the role

The Lead Programmer leads the team of programmers in implementing gameplay, logic, and technical solutions in the games as conceptualized by the other members of the lead team and the creative team. The Lead Programmer works closely with the Producer to plan the development phases and to distribute tasks considering the interests and skills of each member of the technical team and in accordance with conditions, time and resources available. The Lead Programmer is responsible for choosing the appropriate solutions to the games’ technical challenges (physics, advanced algorithms, sound, technical challenges, pipelines, builds, tests, optimization, and general implementation) using Unity, Gitlab, and Wwise. The Lead Programmer is responsible for defining a technical challenge in the graduation game, creating the Technical Design Documents and assisting in presenting the games.
