An alumni survey from earlier this year showed that former DADIU students in general have reaped the rewards from recents years’ significant growth spell in the domestic games industry.
However, the survey also identified some key challenges pertaining to a gendered inequality and employee retention, and with the hey-days coming to an abrupt halt, DADIU Days looked to facilitate encounters between industry stakeholders of the present and the future in order to give credible insights into what traits the industry is looking for.
And so, DADIU students got a rare chance to meet some of the people – including former students – who have succeeded in creating sustainable creative businesses in an arid environment and who keep pushing the boundaries for what can be done in gaming.
Along the parallel tracks on the National Film School of Denmark and the Royal Danish Academy, keynote speakers included Anna-Karina Modecir from Tactile Games, Victor Breum of Mind Diver, game designer Isak Ravn, SYBO's Marie Vardal and DADIU’s very own Camilla Wolden-Ræthinge among many others. The two days of keynotes and workshops covered everything from game entrepreneurship, keeping afloat as a freelancer and showcases of the most cutting-edge new projects.
We can't wait for next year!
